First Aid Kit Contents
Essential supplies for home, car, and travel kits
Step by Step
Common items include: assorted adhesive plasters, sterile gauze dressings, bandages, medical tape, a triangular bandage for slings, disposable gloves, scissors, tweezers, safety pins, a CPR face shield, sterile saline or eyewash, antiseptic wipes, burn dressings or cling film, instant cold packs, a thermometer, and a first aid manual. Personal kits may also hold any prescribed emergency medicines, such as an adrenaline autoinjector, and common over the counter medicines used according to the pack instructions. Add an emergency contact card. Check the kit regularly, replace used or out of date items, and keep it somewhere dry and easy to reach. First aid training helps people use a kit with confidence.
